A shocking fifty percent of all pregnancies in the United States are unintended. This is a health problem because women who did not intend to become pregnant do not receive the prenatal care pregnant mothers should. They may also not have made important lifestyle changes like quitting smoking, drinking, or eating foods that contain high levels of nitrates, like deli meat. A research group conducted a study to find out how women could learn to identify pregnancy early on. Answers included promoting knowledge of reproductive changes in the body and promoting the use of at-home pregnancy tests.
